If your computer has stopped doing what it should, you want someone local who will look at it properly and tell you the truth. We are KTechnology Solutions, and we repair computers for people and businesses in Kingsbridge and the villages around it, from our workshop at Springfield Farm Shop in East Charleton.

Some jobs are small and fiddly, like a laptop that has become painfully slow. Some are worrying, like a machine that won't switch on with the family photos still inside it. Either way, we start by finding out what has actually gone wrong, so you can decide what to do with real information in front of you.

We work on Windows PCs and laptops, Apple MacBooks and iMacs, and Chromebooks. These are the problems people bring us most often.

For portable devices in particular, our laptop screen, battery and upgrade repairs have their own page. Our wider PC, Mac and Chromebook repair service covers how the workshop works for the whole South Hams.

How it works: drop-off, collection, on-site or remote

  1. 1. Tell us what is happening

Call us on 01548 600127 or send a message. Describe the symptoms and, if you can, the make and model.

  2. 2. Choose what suits you

Many software problems can be fixed over a secure remote session. For hardware faults you can drop the machine at our workshop by arrangement, or ask us about collection or an on-site visit around the South Hams.

  3. 3. Diagnosis before decisions

We find the fault and explain it simply, along with the options. Nothing substantial happens until you have agreed it.

  4. 4. Repair, test and hand back

We carry out the agreed work, test the machine and tell you what was done. On many jobs we can lend you equipment so you can carry on in the meantime.

Why people choose us for computer repair

  • Local and easy to reach. We are a short drive from Kingsbridge, with free parking at the farm shop, and you can speak to a person when you call.
  • Charged by outcome, not by the clock. Every job is different, so we price on the outcome, not by the hour, and agree the price with you in writing before any work starts. No surprises afterwards.
  • Honest advice. If a repair would cost more than the machine is worth, we will say so and talk through your options, including sensible replacements from our laptops in the IT shop.
  • Your files come first. We protect or copy your data wherever we can before any invasive work.
  • Security-minded. We also look after cyber security, networks and IT support for businesses, so we notice when a "broken computer" is really a security problem. See our cyber security and IT support pages.

Computer repair in Kingsbridge: your questions

What computers can you repair in Kingsbridge?+

Windows PCs and laptops, Apple MacBooks and iMacs, and Chromebooks, for homes, shops and small offices. Tell us the make and model when you call and we will say what is likely to be involved.

Do I need to bring my computer to you?+

Not always. Many software problems can be sorted over a secure remote session. For hardware faults you can drop the machine off at our workshop at Springfield Farm Shop, East Charleton, by arrangement, or ask about collection and on-site visits around the South Hams.

How much will it cost?+

Every job is different, so we price on the outcome, not by the hour, and agree the price with you in writing before any work starts. We diagnose first, so you know what is wrong and what we recommend before you decide anything.

Will I lose my files?+

We try hard not to let that happen. Where it is practical we copy your files before any invasive work, and if a clean reinstall would be the better fix we talk it through with you first.

Can you repair a laptop with a cracked screen or a dead battery?+

Often, yes. We check the machine, tell you what we found and whether a repair makes sense for the age and value of the laptop. If it does not, we say so plainly.

A pop-up says my computer is infected and tells me to call a number. What should I do?+

Don't call it and don't let anyone connect to your computer. Close the window if you can, switch the machine off if you can't, and ring us on 01548 600127. We can check it over and help you secure any accounts you were worried about.

Can you recover photos from a computer that won't start?+

We will assess it first. Sometimes the files are safe even when the computer is not, and we will tell you what is realistic before any deeper recovery work begins.

Do you cover villages outside Kingsbridge?+

Yes. We help people in Salcombe, Dodbrooke, West Alvington, Malborough, Loddiswell, Aveton Gifford, Thurlestone, Hope Cove, Frogmore, Stokenham, Torcross and the surrounding South Hams.
